Blank answers

Dock log, Sep 23. Not a proud one.

We asked the copilot 90 questions on the demo marina, and about one in ten came back as an empty bubble. Always the same kind of question: "what can you do?", "list every slip with its status", "summarize the marina".

Turned out the model thinks before it answers, and on list-type questions the thinking used up the whole budget for the reply. So it technically answered, with nothing in it.

We gave it more room. And if an answer still comes back empty, the app now says so instead of showing a blank bubble.
